Curious if anyone else is a fan?

I think the zombie genre is getting pretty tired, but I'm working my way through Jamie McGuire's Red Hill. I remember seeing a film called The Quiet Earth years ago that was about survival, and I'd like to see similar books with a sci-fi or existentialist bent. Not sure if there are many (or any) out there.

Horror is my fave genre, and I like dystopian stories.

Horror fiction is what I primarily write and read, though I concede the type of horror fiction I appreciate is mostly contemporary. That is, the horrific happening in the everyday world of today. Though I did recently read an anthology of H.P. Lovecraft inspired fiction called Cthulhu's Reign, dealing with what has happened to humanity after great Cthulhu and the other Old Ones return to take back the earth after millions of years. I think that qualifies as apocalyptic horror.
