Most people just listen to individual songs, but I prefer listening to entire albums, because I'm kind of oldschool that way, and I find that all the really good artists are ones who can make decent records, instead of recording a few hit singles and filling the rest of their records with filler.

Anyway, I just got done listening to Nirvana's amazing MTV Unplugged in New York. It's an absolute masterpiece of an album, though it is kind of sad that it was Kurt Cobain's swansong before his passing. :( I still have to watch the video version of it some time, I've heard that the set Nirvana performed it on was decorated like a funeral, so it makes you wonder if Kurt was foreshadowing his demise...

I think I last listened to The White Stripes - Elephant. Nirvana's MTV Unplugged is brilliant. The video definitely worth watching. :) Don't know whether you'll be aware of it, but I think MTV said to Kurt before the show that they wanted him to smile, so at the end of a song he just bares his teeth at the camera, it's pretty funny. Also, saddeningly, Kurt apparently pulled a staff member aside the morning of the show and asked her 'please could you try to find some people who like us and put them at the front?'. She told him 'Kurt, everyone likes you!', but he didn't seem to know that.

Got the free U2 album Songs Of Innocents downloaded into my i-tunes library. Very pleasantly surprised although not all the songs are great. Can't understand all the negative reaction. Either people don't like U2 or they think because an album is provided free, it can't be any good.

Just listened to Midnight Oil's Place Without a Postcard - and excellent album all the way through, no dud songs on that one. It's a real 'album' experience, rather than a collection of songs. My favourite of theirs, although others of theirs are also really good.

Butthole Surfers Double Live Bootleg from 1989. --I had the Original Vinyl when it came out. The Version of this downloaded from their website is the expanded version that came out on Cassette and CD.

Allegedly when this first came out there was a story that a bootlegger recorded a show, released it, and the actual band got a copy and released it themselves as a semi- official live album to shut the bootlegger off from cash income derived from their music. -- This was actually not the case.

I listened to Adrenaline by Deftones yesterday. Classic album, easily one of the greatest alternative metal albums ever released. That, and KoRn's self-titled album are examples of what the nu-metal genre should have been, rather than what it became.

Just finished listening to Slayer's Reign in Blood  Still a crazy awesome record, though kind of on the short side, even with the expanded edition I have. :( I might just have to listen to it again. :P

UPDATE: I just listened to it again, and somehow it rocked even harder this time than the last time. 8)

Yesterday...and Today by the Beatles. An American compilation album of songs left off the US releases of their proper albums, it starts in mono and replays again in stereo. Not a bad arrangement of songs actually.

Last album I listened to was In Utero by Nirvana. God, I love that album. I'd say it's probably Nirvana's greatest, and it's easily one of my all-time favorites. The lyrics it contains resonated heavily with me back when I was 14, and they still do today, even though I'm not a heroin-addicted rockstar. If you've never listened to it, go listen to it right now, and don't stop until you're finished the whole thing.

Currently, I'm listening to Hate Crew Deathroll by Children of Bodom, another all-time favorite of mine. The best way I could describe it is that it's like the "evil" version of Dragonforce; a breakneck-speed chunk of insanity with frantic guitar solos, pounding drums, cheesy (in a good way) keyboard lines, and black metal-esque vocals. Give it a go sometime if you like metal. :D

Sempiternal - because I am a little bit (totally) obsessed with Bring Me The Horizon. I listen to the whole album, then become obsessed with one song, listen to it on repeat for hours every day for weeks, then pick another song and repeat the process. I think I may have OCD.

We had a night with The Who the other night, haven't listened to them for ages. Quadraphina is an excellent work, a little hard to do all four sides all the way through, but there are some great songs on there. It seems Pete Townsend can really write aspie relatable lyrics.

PUSA Freaked Out and Small

I think it's probably their best. PUSA is such an under appreciated band.

The last full album i've listened to was the 36 minute long debut of Nosey HaMigbaat, from Israel, late 80s.
I actually found it through a member of this very site. He knew the keyboardist, who was the sister of another Israeli musician I like. (who I'm listening to right now.)
I could not find anything else that was not on a long defunct, untranslatable site.

Sabbatum: A Medieval Tribute to Black Sabbath. Its a collection of Black Sabbath songs performed in medieval style with the vocals in latin. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Black Sabbath or medieval music.
