What are songs that you consider annoying?

"songs" filled with profanity. You can pretty much tell a profanity laced song before the first stanza is finished just by the tempo of the "music."

I can't stand Hotel California by The Eagles. It makes me nauseous, depressed, and annoyed, at the same time.

Just about anything recorded after the mid-1980s. I guess that means that I don't like Britney Spears or Lady Gaga, eh?

I'll agree to that, as well as most post 1970's country and western music (excluding bluegrass, which I can take in small quantities). The only songs I could never stand are Everything is Beautiful by Ray Stevens (dad used to sing that damn song continually, just to get a rise out of me. Yet, let me start singing Every Valley shall be exalted from Messiah, and dad would start doing a falsetto singing way off key just to cut me down to smaller than him.), as well as Bear Necessities from Disney's Jungle Book

Definitely "Moves Like Jagger" by Maroon 5. Ugh.

By the tempo? Do you think you could elaborate on this?

I also hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE "We Built This City" by Starship. I don't care if people say it's a classic song, I think it's horrible. The worst part about it is how infectiously catchy it is.

I agree about the Ray Stevens song. It was played over and over again on the radio when it was on the charts.

As well, as much as I like Creedence Clearwater Revival, I sometimes cringe whenever I hear "Proud Mary". Just about every party I attended as an undergrad and every watering hole I'd be in would have that song on the turntable. The thing is, it's not a bad song, but how many times can you hear that chorus without wanting to climb the walls?

Anything Katy Perry or Taylor Swift. It's like being force fed cotton candy through the airwaves.

No. The worst part is that the group's the direct descendant of--ahem--Jefferson Airplane, one of the greatest bands from the 1960s. They clearly sold out.

By the way, you might look for the book "The Worst Rock & Roll Records of All Time". It's hilarious to read and, yes, that song's not only mentioned in it, it's thoroughly, and justifiably, trashed.

'Someone Like You' by Adele. It was all over the radio a few years ago and played at my workplace a few times a day. That and 'For the First Time' by The Script. GOD do I hate that song, and it doesn't get any better the hundredth time. It's so sappy, they sound like they're ripping off Train, and could no one else see the irony of these already successful artists making millions off a hit song about how hard the times were?! That's what really drove me up the wall.

Anything by Cheryl Cole, or "Cheryl Fernandez-Versini" as she's now known as.

I can't stand listening to Adele. She isn't much of a singer.

"Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke. It was a great song at first, but every time I hear that now, I always think of that pain-in-the-neck Miley Cyrus who ruined a good song.
