Is anyone here a fan of satirical music?

I've recently been listening to some old songs by Tom Lehrer, like "National Brotherhood Week", "Who's Next?", and "Werner von Braun".

Tom Lehrer is one funny satirist!

Among my favorite tracks of his are "My Home Town", "The Hunting Song", and his examination and reinterpretation of "Clementine".

Dead Kennedies - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, and to a lesser extent the In God We Trust, Inc. EP, and a bit more of the satire returns on their Plastic Surgery Disasters LP.

You might also like a song called "The Gasman Cometh" by Flanders and Swann. I think it's great!
I haven't heard any of their others.

Also, slightly sillier, is a guy who calls himself Richard Cheese. He does lounge-bar versions of popular songs.
My favourites are Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and The Clash's "Rock the Casbah".
He does a decent version of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" too.

Joe Pop-o-Pie used to trash a bunch of 60's and 70's hits. The Circle Jerks trashed a bunch of horrible 70's (s)hits on 'Golden Shower of Hits', and the Nip Drivers also did some great pisstakes on a Duran Duran song, and a couple of 70's Hits by Olivia Newton John and Sweet.

Dead milkmen, toy dolls, shapes, nofx. them just because there more well known for comedie in general as well as satire.

but pretty much every punk band ever since Sid vicious did i did it my way.

and then theres the kings of covers Me first and the gimmie gimmies an asortment of punk legends including fat mike. they were recently booooed of stage for a cover of stairway, ewich inspired me to write the altimate metalhead insult smells like stairway all in fun of coarse but covers are great in punk all you do is grab out the rythm change it all to eighths speed it up and add distorted guitar. easy.

I also recommend Mrs Miller, a cult figure from the 60s.

You can listen to some snippets on Amazon:

My favourite is "A Lovers Concerto".

There's a clip of her on YouTube:
