Very sad. Tangerine Dream was my introduction to electronic music and had a lot to do with why I decided to get into the kind of music I do. Phaedra and Rubycon are still two of my favorite albums EVER. Edgar will be missed.

Whenever I hear the name Tangerine Dream, I think of the movie Bladerunner.

You're thinking of Vangelis. Different composer, though both feature lots of synthesisers.
