I used to write poems before my head turned into one big mess.
These are the ones I'm most proud of.
Warning, they're kind of depressing.

Cry from a Desperate Soul
As I stare into my mirror
Watch my face as if it’s horror
Creeping from my ugly skin
Rotten heart and soul within
As long as I need I will try
I’ll no longer live this lie
Look into this empty hole
And hear the cry from a desperate soul

Lil Psycho
I know my soul, yet so cold
But will soon have flames to hold
The evil side, it's time to shine
With madness creeping up my spine
No one knows the hate I care
I will show life what's unfair
Turn around, please don't stay
'Cause the Lil Psycho is on her way

Fading
Memories of the past
Exhausted as they seem
Slowly falling behind
Laughing when they scream
Smiling as days pass
Victoriously relieving
is the bright and colorful light
That my eyes are perceiving
This desperate escaping
From unnecessary harassing
Simply fading
As time is passing

And this is one I wrote today, because on an other site someone had this topic named "take 5 minutes right now to come up with a poem".

Extinguished
I did my very best to write a poem
What was once beautiful and bright
This neverending chaos inside my head
Extinguished that one lasting bit of light.

Ladies and gentlemen when you feel down.
Always remember this, there's no need to frown.
For everybody is a genius in there own unique way.
So better your skills day by day.
If at first you don't succeed
Then strike again and take the lead.
For failure is an important thing,
To learn the rules on how to win.

Have you considered trying straight free verse? The rhyming seems a little forced in some of these, as if the stanzas need to rhyme so the whole piece qualifies as a poem.
