I think I might be the only one on here who plays one of these things. Can't help it, I don't know why I'm drawn to it, but I always have been. I must be off the deep end, most of my learning is done by ear. Being an apsie I can sit down at my guitar and see, hear the music. Is that weird or what? I've got to get a better hobby. J.C.

I almost bought one at Guitar Center before. The only mainstream band I can think of that uses it regularly would be Queens of the Stone Age but it's still a really cool instrument. I wish more bands would utilize it.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band uses a pedal steel as the main instrument. They're incredible, and the pedal guitarist Robert Randolph is an amazing musician!

They have two albums, Unclassified and Colorblind. I have the former, and I'll purchase the latter sometime soon.

I don't play a pedal steel, but I am buying a lap steel. They're such cool instruments!
