So this has been one of my favorite metal bands for a while now does anyone else like them? I have seen them in concert once which was pretty cool. To classify I suppose you could call them sort of satanic/occult goth metal, with a sort of heavy symphonic black metal influence.

I remember them from when I was in college. Lots of metal there, especially the people of the more technical and science studies.
I remember I visited a large government organisation once and got a tour, all the people there wore the typical office suits. Then we came to the control room of the IT and servers and all the people working there were metalheads with black band shirt and long hair and/or beard.
I'm listening to Týr now. I think it's also nice that some of their songs are in Faroese, the Scandinavian languages have a bit of a sing-song sound to me.
