i'd like to invite you to illustrate poems together, it was the artwork of a few people here that inspired me to such an idea, i'll copy what we have discussed so far in the next message

we'll also need a few people to write our poems, Tinky said she might perhaps want to help us with it.
so if you have some visualisable ideas or beautiful sentences for us...
or if you're interested in doing the graphics with us ...

maybe we could do a project together ? there are so many skilled artists here that it would be wonderful to make some kind of story together.
i'd like to coordinate it-if someone would be interested of course- but not immediately
'cause right now i'm in the middle of my exams

This sounds like a lovely idea. :) It'd be great if we really gave it a go.

That's fine... I usually have nothing to do.

I've been thinking about it a bit (i don't have much time now 'cause i'm in the middle of my exams)
and i thought we might start with something not too difficult to see if we manage to work together,
and how that would go.
My proposition is that we'd start with a few poems for children( I thought that's easy to begin with because it considers one page a time, and no need to go to a certain fix pages already, it's also very free of interpretation and playfull as well. Also easier to combine

if you'd agree
-we'd need a poem first or at least the subject
-to know who would do what (background, objects, lay-out of the page, the collage of everything, the way the text would be represented,...)
-a system of propositions
-a system to decide who will do what
-to agree on certain limits (colours, size,...)
-to agree how we'd manage things (can someone else adjust your drawing and things like that, i suggest
we'd be rather free in that especially since we only try this out, we could always become more serious later if we'd wanted to)
-to know who would like to join
...

Maybe you can add your thoughts as well? Or if you don't like my proposition, suggest some changes?
Or if you have questions?
(remember I don't have much time now, so if I don't reply immediately I'm probaly still thinking about it. Also the fact I visit WP doesn't always mean I have time, i have my daily three minutes visits sometimes-or maybe more like three times a day- , or a randomtopic visit to relax from studying)

I hope we're able to make something special... :)

Perhaps it’s the fact that you enjoy the sound of your voice
Or the sound of wind whispering in the trees that keeps you going
The thought of a new day and perhaps even a better one
The hope that you’ll get a single glance of truth in your life...

Out of over 1 trillion things you had to be you
Not a pop star, a movie star, or even a star to wish upon
You take it all in day by day...

it's not finished. don't know when i'll finish since i randomly write poetry. it all depends on my mood.

thanks tinky ! !!

for the illustration, we might perhaps want to agree on the size of it? like how many dpi will it need to have in the end?

and of course we'd have to know who will do what before we can actually start...

You can start at 300 dpi for any possibility of printing, and reduce to 75 dpi for the internet.

that's ok.
A4 ? (i don't know if that's a regular size in other countries too?)

i see no-one is responding, i'll go and search some people in the 'display your artwork' thread one of these days, i've seen many interesting drawings/paintings/collages/... there

maybe we could already post some drafts?
i would have liked seigneur to do a background, because the ones he did were very nice,
and maybe we could then add characters and objects and so ? would you like to do that seigneur?

I don't even know what A4 is, so I guess not.

But yeah, background, sure. I'll get on that, maybe get something done within a week. Not like I'll be drawing for a whole week, just have no idea what to draw.

ixochiyo_yohuallan's poem :

Empathy

My soul, what ever do you want?
I have found no place for myself for many days,
for many days my eyes have been trying the ground.
My soul no longer agrees to stay inside me,
leaks out of my fingertips into the wide world.
I fly with the seagulls in the sea of blue,
bend my green thin body in the wind,
fall in a thousand raindrops and feed the rich soil.
Once I have been like anyone, simple and strong,
and thought I knew something about something...
But one day something unspeakable
touched my heart,
and the sky poured into my eyes.
Since then, I speak not, become what I sense,
and harbor the whole world in my breast.
I'm so tired... why this torment
of being torn into a thousand living parts?
Or maybe my soul, wishing to leave my body,
simply wants to grow as grass out of the earth?

ixochiyo_yohuallan's second poem :

Healing Flames

The dawn is fresh and brisk.
A strong cold wind
blows, bending the bloodied grasses, into scarlet infinity.
And no-one suffers because someone else's soul
is weakening with a thousand wounds.
I measure with my stare the piercing distance
that, like a door into an unfamiliar, strange land,
guards someone's dreams...
I'm torn apart inside,
but I'm aware that the eternal seed
that I have carried earlier, and sought to sow in others,
will blossom at some time at least in one man's heart.
What's left to me is watching that red fire,
and welcoming,
in the freedom of despair,
the entrance into the scarlet gates of the unknown.
..........
The dawn is flaming hard,
and in those flames I shall immerse myself,
and fade forever...

Here is an illustration and a poem that goes with it

Image

Title: Faces in a Crowd

faces
eyes, a nose, an ear
faces
speak a language
that I can't hear

faces
familiar and strange
awake in me a
wide emotional range

faces
that look, that stare
faces
that I love but
can not bare

faces
features all in harmony
why do you stir in
me such agony?

faces
faces
faces
