The only woman (and the fourth announcer) to host the Saturday Afternoon matinee broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera. She died of ovarian cancer on 3 June at the age of 58. She was no Milton Cross or Peter Allen, but she did the job well. I've always wondered why she was often indisposed when I had the chance to listen to the Met.
