I have a few modern sertanejo songs and I listen to them every day. Half of them are recorded by Michel Teló, who has a very good voice. My number one favorite is the well know hit "Ai se eu te pego".
The Portugese language sounds beautiful, especially in music.

The only Brazilian music I really know is Os Mutantes. I do agree about the sound of the language.

I don't know about much Brazilian music and don't have two words of Portuguese to rub together, but I like this song:

Patife Band, which is essentially Brazilian Math Rock from 1987, The previously mentioned Os Mutantes, as well as the Hardcore bands Ratos de Porao and Garotos Podres. --Both R.d.P.and Garotos Podres have been togeather since the early 80's, and Jao Gordo from R.d.P. worked his way from living on the streets of a Favela to being a VJ on MTV Brasil.

Years ago I listened to a Brazilian pop station that was pretty good but I haven't listened to any Brazilian music sense then.

I got in to Bossa Nova a few years ago and still listen to it quite a bit - a lot of the better stuff (IMHO) came from the Brazilian artists who originated the style collaborating with American artists, but some of the Brazilian artists I still listen to include Nara Leao, Baden Powell, Joao Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ellis Regina, Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho. I haven't really gotten in to other styles of Brazilian music so much.
