Does anyone here have music stuck in their head permanently?
I do, and it's very irritating. I can faintly hear it, too.

Lyrics in particular are the worst. Imagine one of the songs with lyrics I've posted here playing on repeat with no end, without one moment of silence. The only way to stop the song is to think of another song and keep that on repeat mentally. It takes a lot of mental effort to change songs and not have the unwanted songs go back into my head.

Sometimes I like lyrics for a short time, but then they become extremely agitating as they repeat permanently. I used to like those songs that I've posted here, but after a day or so of them repeating in my head permanently, I cannot stand to even think of them, because they will begin to repeat and will not stop.

Okay, now imagine that you feel like the lyrics are indirectly about you in some weird collective unconscious way.
I have that problem. Sometimes, I feel like these musicians are indirectly referencing me, and it can be upsetting.
I know that they are not actually doing that, but the feeling is still there. Medication does not help.

I try to avoid any songs that could get stuck in my head. Commercials with songs on TV can be a huge annoyance. My family likes to play music loudly sometimes, and I need to use white noise to not hear it and get the music stuck in my head permanently. Sometimes, I get songs that I haven't heard for 17 years stuck in my head if I just imagine them.

I try to get video game music stuck in my head, or electronic music, or instrumental music, without lyrics.
That way, if I get a song with lyrics stuck in my head, I can switch songs more efficiently. It's important.
But yeah, if I like a song, it will lose it's flavor very quickly since I have to hear it all day everyday ceaselessly.
It becomes bitter, and I have to find a new one that I like.

Not permanently sure but sometimes I'll get parts of songs stuck in my head that can be really annoying, its not really like the song is stuck in my head as my brain for whatever reason starts stuck on some specific word/phrase/lyrics it doesn't even have to be music. Guessing that's OCD.

It's a form of OCD called "Intrusive Thoughts". Mine are very severe. They are relentless.
It doesn't have to be entire songs, sometimes it's just a very short part of the song that repeats ceaselessly.
When I have the music in my head (always), it's like I hear them directly out of my brain, rather than my ears.
But, sometimes I can hear the music very faintly as if it's inside of actual sounds that surround me.

Hi CoolStoryBro!

You know, I constantly have music and even parts of music repeating in my head it seems non stop. The only difference is that it doesn't really bother me. I've just accepted that's how my mind works, and my mom is the same way. It's a lot easier for me to switch songs in my head. It may take some intentional thinking, but not a big deal for me personally. But yeah, I have one of my own songs on piano repeating in my head on a certain part over and over again right now!

I also have OCD induced intrusive thoughts, and the ones that bother me are not music related.

If you're looking for some good instrumental music to repeat in your head, check out the 2 Sega Genesis songs I made: http://wrongplanet.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=289740#p6690748

Ocean Melody is my favorite, and is the longest song I've ever made at 6 and a half minutes.

I like having this song stuck in my head, and find it hard to get burnt out on it.

Also, I tend to go to quiet spots sometimes and just compose and experiment with musical ideas in my head, and my headed is loaded with songs, some I have not even recorded yet.

I put headphones and blare extremely fast or technical music. It overwhelms repetitive and obsessive "hooks." I've been playing guitar for 14 years and am able to hear all elements simultaneously. This also means I get stupid stuff stuck in my head.
Listening to "overload music," than I also like, dominates that "get the hell out of my head!" for a few things, as well.

I need to buy a portable mp3 player with very long battery life and comfortable headphones and do this all day.
