I think those are examples of tragic lyrics, but the effect on me is not depressing. I like NIN and JC, and don't find them depressing at all. I wouldn't listen to depressing music.

I find modern pop depressing.

This is one huge epic song. The lyrics don't start until just after 8:30. First 8.5 minutes is all buildup. It's more about grief/heartbreak rather than depression (I make a subtle distinction) but its such a good song I'll include it.

Just go back to late 70s/early 80s Brit Synthopop. Lots of depressing material there.

I was going to post that.



i only find this depressing because the singer does when i was in diapers and i will never, ever, get to meet her no matter how hard i wish or hope. she exists and interacts with me now only in my subconscious.
