Anyone else like German Music?

I love Nena

I like bands from Germany like Heaven Shall Burn and Blind Guardian, but when it comes to the German language, I don't know of many. I like some Rammstein and Equilibrium quite a bit though. It's such a wonderful language for metal, but I have a hard time finding metal in languages other than English.

I like some German music. Wir Sind Helden are a very nice band (also live, check out their live performance on YouTube of "Nur ein Wort" with Judith stagediving), Wolfsheim are a great band too (they mostly sing in English but their best song is in German: "Künstliche Welten"), Rammstein are acceptable to some extent but a bit repetitive (but I do like songs like "Engel", "Tier", "Moskau", "Rosenrot", "Du riechst so gut", "Mein Teil", ...) and while a huge guilty pleasure, i like some Tokio Hotel songs ("Übers Ende der Welt", "Rette mich", "1000 Meere", ... and if they'd re-record with Bill's adult voice: "Schrei", "Durch den Monsun" -- their songs make a lot more sense in German)

Also, Sandra Lauder recorded a German translation of "Big in Japan" by Alphaville which is actually a very good cover; "Japan ist weit".

Not much modern stuff, if that is what you were asking although I did like Holger Czukay (I think he was German.. not sure though).

Hans Zimmer (or is he Austrian?) is an absolute genuis film composer and his Inception soundtrack is awesome

However as a massive fan of Baroque music I am obviously into the master J S Bach but have recently got into the extended Bach Family and also Buxtehude has become one of my all time favourites now... I am quite anti religion but his Membra Jesu Nostra is an absolute trip.

I like a lot of German metal...and I've heard some industrial/electronic I like from there.

I like Beethoven, Brahms, and Mahler. Ain't no skool like tha ol' skool.

There was a very interesting band from Germany in the 70's called Can, the best album was called "Tago Mago"

This band was on the ZTT label who spent most of their money on Frankie Goes to Hollywood and shunted this much superior band aside

I find German music to be too heavy, from classical to rock. Too much like their culture.

I love German music, although most of what I listen to falls into the metal/rock crowd.

I enjoy listening to Rammenstein, Megaherz, and Eisbrecher.
