Now that he's gone, he'll be classed with Mozart, Bach, Elvis, and other musical geniuses, when his unique talent is viewed with proper perspective.

He music is great, I just have a problem with how he tried to shut down fan websites who used his likeness.

Sometimes it snows in April.
I loved his music, and as far as people who i have never met, he meant a lot to me, and will continue to.

He was definitely unique. I hate that he died just as he was opening up. So much we could have learned. And so much I know he could have offered by way of talent alone. I understand he was very, very prolific. There is no emoticon I can see here to do it justice.

Edit: I was just showing someone a music video and searched YouTube. Well, right at the top is a conspiracy theory about "Did the chemtrail fly kill Prince.

sigh.......

If only every single news report of his death on every single channel did not feature "1999". I mute the volume whenever his face comes on the screen.

He was certainly a musical genius, and he will be missed; but he composed many other pieces, so why play only one?

Instant recognition. That's all.

Yep....probably his most recognizable work.

He died too young. He was a very physically-fit man even in his 50's. He could do quite a few one-armed pushups, for example.

Good Riddance! I didn't like his music then, and still do not like it today. I'll take B.B. King and Lucille any day.

Saw him at Wembley Arena in '88, on the "Lovesexy" tour. it was one of the greatest shows I have ever seen, from one of the only - if not the only - artist who made Top 40 radio worth listening to in the mid-80s. Had a gift for both music and showmanship that enabled him to appeal to both pop kids and jaded rock snobs alike.

Way too young, too. Very sad.

Outside of this forum definitely don't say that about anyone.

I like his music OK. He was the only artist to turn down Weird Al's request to do a parody song. I was hoping Prince would change his mind & give Al permission.

Good post that is much better than being glad someone is dead.

He had begun an autobiography...no one has seen a single page of it, since his death.

The official story is that no will was found, but friends of his said that at least one existed....his life changed over the years, and he made changes to the will.

His body was cremated, quickly and quietly, by his family, however is is known that he wanted and expected a funeral....Geogre Clinton has recalled conversations wherein Prince told him what music/ specific songs he wanted played.

He planned for Paisley Park to be a museum, like Graceland, only bigger and better....that is why Prince memorabilia has rarely been available; he saved it all, even the motorcycle from 'Purple Rain' to be displayed.

However, since no will has been found, the family will make all decions as to the disposition of everything he owned.

I was stunned that he was not given a public viewing, like Elvis, like Judy Garland, like James Gandolfini......

And no funeral, no grave?

He really deserved that.
