Any of you are familiar in the tonal universe of classical masters such as bach etc?

I am, my favorite composers are Liszt, Chopin, Brahms, Bach and Fauré. With some experience in the pieces of others such as Mahler, Grieg, Rachmaninov etc.

My favorite pieces are so far kommt ihr töchter and schafen können sicher weiden from Bach, Cantique de jean racine from Fauré and from Liszt everything i hear is equally favorite. :)

I personally am a music composer who has studied golden ratio, cymantics and its physical properties of and the mathematical logic behind music. So any discussion about such is very welcome. I do have to say despite my knack i cannot write sheetmusic, i compose in trackers. I can however write and read tabs as i also play accoustic classical guitar. I have a vast log of music perhaps because of having lived in absolute solitude for so long spending all my time on both developing my understanding of it and making soundtracks for clients. (theres plenty of things to say about my work but seeing as i dont only compose classical music but also electronic and even chiptune ill refrain from it to keep this topic about the header)

Just so its clear from the get go; atonality is not interesting to me whatsoever so please dont argue about it.

Thanks :)

do you prefer equal temperament or other tuning schemes such as meantone or just tuning?

I havent experimented with tuning too much, atleast not on guitar appart from some basics such as drop D. I guess i use equal temperament of the basic kind on guitar tuning. When composing i cant say i ever compose on a distinct scale system but on basis of 'the road least traveled' in logical confinements if that makes any sense. I suppose it has to do with what the mind sees as (too) generic and stray from that. Perhaps its a contemporary tendency, but im in no way a protestant of classical systems, i believe strongly in the golden ratio and its geometry.

have you ever experimented with the new MIDI systems that implement digitally enhanced just tuning? it seems to be the best of all worlds, the chord modulation flexibility of well-tempered plus the sharply locked harmony of just, without the wolf tones.

I just dont focus on tuning tbh, only when i use an instrument. Never digitally. I compose with individual notes, not with sequence samples. :)

I'm glad to hear you get to compose for other people but in your own style. Or styles!
I really, really wanted to be a classical composer. Got to university to find that in order to be taken seriously now, your music has to be atonal (preferably serialist) or, in a pinch, minimalist. I don’t hate either of those things, but I don’t listen to them much. Certainly can’t write in those styles, and don’t want to.
I like all those forgotten minor post-Romantics, like Resphigi or Walton, who were doing interesting things without getting obsessed with made-up rules. The music maybe isn’t as solid as Bach or Brahms, but it’s encouraged me to start composing again.
