I know this one guy who's a violinist, and he has this huge mark by his jaw and he's proud of it. I understand that shows that he plays violin a lot but still it's gross....

Whatever. As long it's not am open, festering sore.

I have a scarred inner lip from playing clarinet for years, but it's not an issue for me. I am sort of proud about my guitarist hands though - as woman, it's pretty obvious something's up when all the nails on my left hand are short as they can be and those on my right are longer and cut at a slant (so the corners don't hook onto strings). I moisturize my hands often so the callouses aren't that noticeable. My other "badge of honor" from guitar playing is tedonitis in both arms, which is only a bragging point when you're around Leo Kottke fans.
