I think shoegaze overlaps a lot with noise rock. So does a lot of post-rock (Slint is considered post-rock). I'd even count some modern psychedelic and garage-rock music. The main element is a thick/lush sound with lots of distortion and dissonance.

Sleigh Bells is like a massage to my brain. This is too but I don't think it's considered noise rock. Maybe chill wave?
