It's for a school project, believe it or not. I am going to make a small Wordpress site that has a couple articles and a webcomic that goes into detail what it means to be an American as well as an Aspie.

This forum is made with the intent of brainstorming ideas as well as collecting topics of interests from the community its made to serve.

So tell me ladies and gents; weather your on or off the spectrum, what topics involving autism and/or life in America do you want to see a blog about?

How about the difficulty in forming a connection between an Aspie and an NT?

That's one of the biggest problems with Asperger's/Autism.

You could write particularly about how Aspies try to do things how NTs want but NTs are often unwilling to meet us halfway, they don't seem to see that if they made half as much effort to be a little autistic as we do to be neurotypical we might just be able to form relationships or connections with them.

I agree, I would say the difficulties of being an Aspie. I think people still assume that having autism means you have little to no speech, constantly flap your hands and throw tantrums when anything changes - and that's the extent of functionality. So if you're not like that then you're not autistic. That of course, is not true.

Also, specifics of communication issues.
-Being more honest than society thinks you should be and coming off as rude.
-Not making eye contact. I live in America so I know this is a HUGE problem. The other day my counselor stopped our session and asked if she had offended me, just because I wasn't looking at her.
-Not being able to say what you mean or how you feel.

-Some general facts about Aspie symptoms and comorbid disorders like ADD. And stimming. Stimming is everything.

I'm sure I'll be back when I think of more. When does your project need to be submitted?
