Does anyone else really like songs without lyrics, instrumental ones? Right now I'm really into Audiomachine, Two Steps from Hell, a compilation album called Tutta La Storia Del Treno Bianco Azzurro (The Whole Story of the Blue White Train), World of Dreams by Future World Music, Lucius Dei by Immediate and quite a few film/tv soundtracks.

I love instrumental music. Nothing against singing, but disagreeable vocals will prejudice me against music much more quickly than anything instrumental. Easier for instrumental music to "grow on me", I guess.

Definitely. How do you find new music? For me it was YouTube, hearing a song in a video (that's how I found most of my favourite "normal" songs as well), and now I'm on Apple Music so it isn't too hard to find similar artists or get recs.

Yeah, it is pretty much youtube for me these days. I made a rule for myself where I can only rip one song per artist before having to buy whatever they have for sale(assuming it can be bought).

Okay. That's a good rule.

I'm indifferent, but "Orion" (Metallica) and "Peaches en Regalia" (Frank Zappa) are two of the better ones.

Also, most classical music have no lyrics (Wasn't invented yet?) :D I like Mussorgsky and Chopin (An old gaming injury from "Frontier")

True. I haven't listened to much classical music to have any favourites or anything though. I'll rectify that. One day. :p

Oh! Oh! Oh! I forgot!

My favourite Post-Apoc MMO called Neocron (Often called "Deus Ex Online") had these great pieces of ambient music in it. Max Chorbacho, Steve Roach and Ian Boddy.

Here is a playlist of some of them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2Q4BOo ... 4E5CD8491F

Neocron (The original) is shut down now, and Neocron 2 (sequel) went bankrupt, but the player community was allowed to continue to host it, you can play it for free: http://www.neocron-game.com/

Sorry to do this to you (again!) but still not to my tastes; it's too western for me. Someone else may enjoy it though. :)

Am listening to the playlist in the background, finished the first two. I really like Max Corbacho's Ceremonial Sky. Thanks for sharing. :) I think Audiomachine's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare album may be of interest to you. I myself only like a few of the songs on the album but still.

Since Ichinin mentioned mmos, it reminded me of a couple of MMO/online games I use to play religiously. Their soundtracks were part of what made them so addicting.

In my music collection, songs with lyrics are the exception. Classical and electronic, I like them both.

Lack of lyrics means that you can interpret the music however you seem fit, there is no message.

The title says it all...

Technically, most songs have lyrics. A song means it has singing. So what we're talking about are compositions.

A song without lyrics:

I really like Time Lapse Consortium which was a project by the guitarist from Incubus. Pat Metheney, a jazz guitarist is also really good. Particularly his Bright Size Life album. Here's an interesting fact that I learnt recently; music without lyrics is called a piece of music. It's only called a song when it contains lyrics.
