Have you guys heard the progressive rock band Gentle Giant before? I'm currently obsessed with them.

Here are some samples of their songs:

Tell me what you think of the samples.

Always liked 'Runaway' from Glass House - sort of a Gilbert & Sullivan tribute...'Spooky Boogie' from Giant for a Day wasn't bad...the album Civilian from 1980 was a more commercial sounding departure, some would probably say a sellout, but it was a little more accessible to mainstream listeners...there's a good track called 'I am a Camera' from that one...

If you like GG, you might also enjoy Barclay James Harvest, or Wishbone Ash...

there was another 70s band called Steamhammer that morphed into a band called Armageddon - they had more of a metal edge, kind of like Yes meets Zeppelin - anyway, on their one eponymous album, there's a great tune called Silver Tightrope you might enjoy...

Yeah, I've liked them on and off over the last 30 years or so ! There's a live DVD of them, "Sight and Sound" I think it's called, that's well worth getting if you can find it. They are the most uncool looking band ever, dressed like childrens TV presenters. The music is excellent, although there's a few of their later songs when they went downhill badly.
