Personally I'd say symphonic, goth, viking, folk, alternative, christian, glam, neo-classical, nu and power are the least favorite metal subgenres to me.

What are the worst metal subgenres to you?

Personally, i don't mind folk, power and gothic metal, but for me it's going to be nu-metal, metalcore, deathcore, porno/goregrind, drone metal and djent. The core side of metal is just badly performed plagiarism of the Gothenburg sound, while the death side appeals to scene kiddies.

Anything where the "singer" just goes "RAWRR!" on the microphone and you can't understand the lyrics because he's not actually singing.

I don't know I actually enjoy quite a few bands from just about every genre of metal....but I don't count christian metal since most bands of that title don't even sound like metal they sound like hard rock bands that are really over the top about being 'christains' so yeah I don't really like it. Then of coure I don't consider deathcore, metalcore or anything with core after it as metal either I could say those are metal influenced genres I don't particularly like.

That's my favorite.

For me it's probably anything with "core" in it that isn't grind.

Is there an "all of the above" option? I'd say death metal and screamo are the worst if I had to pick!

Deathcore is the absolue worst. Nu Metal is sometimes good, but often sucks. Glam Metal is usually inane. Metalcore is usually mediocre at best. Grindcore is something else, to say the least.

Black, drone and math.

Grindcore and "deathcore" suck too.

Christian Metal isn't a genre, it's normal Metal with Christian themed lyrics that has a lower quality standard because it's being targeted at a niche demographic. Thus it tends to have lower quality, but not always.

Indeed Ganondox...but there's still Demon Hunter and Becoming the Archetype.

I am just confused where any metal comes into christan metal at all, I've heard 'christian metal' and none of it I've heard sounds like metal. Its not nessisarily lower quality just doesn't seem to be metal and much of it in my opinion is kind of horrible. Sounds more like metalcore or hard rock with christian themed lyrics.

The only Christian bands I know and really enjoy are Mortification, Incubus (the death metal band) and Paramecium. Whatever musical sub-genre, ‘black’ metal (Horde, Antestor), metalcore (Underoath) or cheesy heavy/glam metal (Stryper), the rest just haven’t cut it for me.

Anyways musically speaking my least favourite subgenres are glam, metalcore, deathcore, djent bands and most melodic death metal of the Gothenburg variety.
I do however like some melodic death metal bands, mainly early At the Gates, Eucharist, Arghoslent (sort of melodic death), Desultory and Unanimated.

I don’t listen to much overly happy folk metal either, though I like lots of folk/black type mixtures.
For power metal I only listen to a few bands.
And for doom I enjoy death/doom or black/doom quite often, however rarely will I like a super super slow funeral doom band or pretty much anything that falls under drone/doom metal.
Brutal death metal and death/grind I’m not a big fan of but it’s occasionally done right (stuff like Napalm Death, Repulsion, Carcass, Nile, Suffocation etc etc.), However brutality for the sheer sake of brutality and nothing more doesn’t seem to usually work.

What's wrong with "djent" bands? You have to look into the underground bands, but you can find some awesome ones, like Spiralmountain, Returning We Hear the Larks (later instrumentals) and Absent Distance. If you are referring to the ones that just palm mute and call it "djent", then those ones suck. However, there are many that do sweet polyrhythms.

Polyrhythms and progressive technical wankery simply can’t take the place of actual substance, atmosphere and emotion. I don’t like any of the stuff I’ve heard, not even the Meshuggah albums I have that are so highly appraised by some. It’s just sterile and lifeless to me. I’ll check out those bands sometime today.

I really can't say I've heard a metal genre that I've disliked. But that's just me.

THAT'S the problem. You are only listening to Meshuggah and their endless amounts of clones. Djent is just like any trend...mostly poser bands. However, if you dig for the good 'uns, they're pretty damn good, mostly instrumental bands.
