If I am actually an Aspie, then progressive rock is definitely one of my main "special interests" (obsessions).
I am interested in most subgenres of prog; bands old and new.
Off the top of my head, all-time favorites include:
Genesis (all the way up to 'self-titled,' and there are even songs on Invisible Touch that I like, believe it or not)
King Crimson (all eras)
Yes (all 70's, most 80's stuff)
Rush (all, but Moving Pictures/Signals favorite time)

Another one for Yes and King Crimson.

Everyone should watch on Youtube:

Yes - Starship Trooper - Live in Lugano 2004 (Remastered)
King Crimson - Starless (Live in Takamatsu, Japan 2015)

I think there is a documentary on Sky Arts about Yes this weekend.

Youngsters may think these bands (and others like them) are old men dinosaurs but back in the early 1970's they more or less invented the modern multi-track recording studios that all the modern artists use these days.

I like new prog rock bands, like Devin Townsend Project. He used to play lots of metal before and you can tell when the music starts, but basically he has left the metal days behind as he wanted to change his life around and the music he creates is much happier now, but some songs are still a bit heavy.

I'd have to say that Ween and The Beatles are my favourite progressive rock bands.

Pink Floyd is my favorite followed by Led Zeppelin.
