My friend suggested that I start up my own little online business where I let people commission me to write stories about whatever they want. It sounds like a cool idea, but I'm worried that people will start asking me to write fetish stories for them, I'd have to refuse, and that'd be bad publicity. Anyone here have experience doing anything like that?

Not but it would help you to list what you will write about and what you won't and post specifically on a site that isn't fetish related. Also when you get established start a patreon.

An interesting idea. Other than work as a professional revisionist (one who rewrites stories for other authors) as Lovecraft had done from time to time, I've never heard of that before.

I set up a page for myself on Fiverr yesterday just to see what happened. Showed it to my friend, who began pointing out all the problems with my "business strategy" and that put me in a bad mood, so I deleted the whole thing.

Try again, make it work. Don't be put off because someone pointed a couple of mistakes out, if I quit every time someone commented on what I'd done I wouldn't do anything.

I've been working 12 hour shifts for the past week with only one day off. My nerves are fried and I don't have the energy to start my own business right now anyway. Maybe once the holidays are done.

I will always suggest patreon. You can set up tiers. The more a person gives the more say they have in your work. Whether that be voting on a topic you write about or commissioning a piece from you. Just make sure you have works under your belt to show your particular style.
