I wouldn't say I'm the hugest fan of Tool's newer stuff...
And while I'm on the subject of side projects Maynard's band A Perfect Circle is absolutely mind-boggling AMAZING in my honest opinion. Or at least the first two albums, but generally I love the fact that Maynard shows off his fearless and shameless need to shove the truth or at least raw honest feel in others' faces whether they want it or not. If I were that kind of musician I'd want to get out there probably and do the same thing, maybe more indirectly but in a way that I'd honor and glorify the reality and the magic of speaking out and doing if with art and passion.

idk...who agrees with how I see his attitude?

I don't dislike Tools music, they have some good stuff.

That said the people behind it seem like they can be pretty big a**holes or at least condescending. I mean for a while on the internet I was seeing people complain that they hadn't put out their new album yet...and I was thinking it would be funny if Tool had just released a silent album and had some kind of intelligent sounding excuse as to why it's the best art they have created. Like seemed a jerk move that would be absolutely perfect from them. Also I mean they are called Tool and I don't think they mean they are the tools...I think it's everyone else is.

That said I like a lot of the roger waters era pink floyd, and that guy was probably the biggest a**hole that was in Pink Floyd.

As for A Perfect Circle I heard some a long time ago, and well cannot say i liked it all that much. The lyrical content seemed good but the music didn't really do much for me.
