Not my preferred style, but you’ve done a good job of getting all the parts to work together to make a whole, and I like the ironic contrast between the literal meaning of the lyric and the mood of the melody and harmonisation. The darker turn of the little coda is a nice touch, unexpected and also satisfying.

Thanks. When I first made it I actually didn't think of that irony until midway through. I chose that sample because I was aiming to make something akin to witch house and that particular vocal clip came from a Japanese kleenex commercial that is said to be cursed.

Interesting and amusing concept. I’m now wondering what a collection of miniatures like this all built around samples of supposedly cursed pieces of pop-culture would sound like as a cycle! :D

(I only know of the concept of musical irony from reading classical theory books: not attempted it myself)

I liked it, but found the tone of the snare a little annoying. Generally speaking I like a snappy sounding snare, but that sounds a wee-bit tinny. For what it's worth it took me years to finally put together a decent set of acoustic drum samples that sound good to my ears.

I'm biting the Kleenex ad sample though.

Do you collaborate with other musicians/producers at all?
