The heart is a drum
Steady
Beating
Vibrating
Breath is the wind of the wild
Harsh
Tempting
Swaying
The eyes are the sky
Expansive
Observant
Distant
The soul is the brain of the matter
Alive
Thriving
Individual
Humans are the collection of element
A drum beat
A whisper
A learner

It isn't. It's not because an art is getting less and less popular that it is dying. Many people write poetry, but most of them do not publish them either because it's personal or that they think it's dumb and bland.

You had the courage to publish it. It's nice, I would say.
An extract of a song I wrote in March, with the rhythm and melody of Chocolate Rain (well, kind of)

Quote:
Crimson Lead
Makes loving brothers fight to death somehow
Crimson Lead
As in this chaos we all must grow

Crimson Lead
In the street people asking for their rights
Crimson Lead
Half of them will be under the dim prison lights

Crimson Lead
Every year erased and started in vain
Crimson Lead
The machine-gun will make you feel its pain

Crimson Lead
Shrapnel long replaced the rain
Crimson Lead
As history is echoing once again.

since you seem interested in all poetic contributions no matter how rudimentary,
here below, is my jejune effort which may seem most elementary-

seasoning of the hamburgers
may be the engineering behind the gaspergers
in the reasoning of the assburgers [aspergers].
IOW well-done is better than rare,
for aspies to avoid the glare,
of the olfactorily sensitive social faire.

wow :o really? i'm amazed :bounce: :D it was originally written by me in relation to a long-ago thread about how people mispronounced "asperger's" as assburgers and gasburgers and such. i was just playing around with the alliteration. :)

ok then :) here is another - warning here, if you don't like double entendres, then skip reading this one-

a big hole needs a big pole to reach it's goal. a small pole is lost in a big hole and fit only for a small hole which can comfortably enroll only the small pole. the two different types do not fit well together. if you took a poll of the hole and pole, you'd find agreement on the whole, on the virtues of matching the pole with the hole.

*claps!* =)

Let me try that
------------------------

I had a hole
The whole world fell through
And a hole field
Where a whole lot of nothing grew

here is another- [warning- double entendres]

There was a papa mole, a mama mole, and a baby mole. They lived in a hole out in the country near a farmhouse. Papa mole poked his head out of the hole and said, "Mmmm, I smell sausage!" Mama mole poked her head outside the hole and said, "Mmmm, I smell pancakes!" Baby mole tried to stick his head outside but couldn't because of the two bigger moles. Baby mole said, "The only thing I smell is molasses."

what, there's more :)

He/She who observed it served it.
He/She who detected it ejected it.
Whoever rhymed it crimed it. (used after someone uses a blaming rhyme)
He/She who said the rhyme did the crime. (used after someone uses a blaming rhyme)
Whoever spoke last set off the blast.
Whoever smelt it dealt it.
Whoever denied it supplied it.
The next person who speaks is the person who reeks.
The smeller's the feller.
He/She who inculpated promulgated.
The one who said the verse just made the atmosphere worse.
Whoever's poking fun is the smoking gun
He/She who accuses blew the fuses.
He/She who refuted it tooted it.
He/She who pointed the finger pulled the finger.
He/She who articulated it particulated it.
He/She who deduced it produced it.
She who sniffed it biffed it.
The slanderer made the gland error.
He/She who eulogized it aerosolized it.
Whoever makes the smoke makes the joke.
He/She who rapped it cracked it.
Whoever rebuts it cuts it.
The methane accuser is the nostril abuser.
Whoever said it let it.

OK my favorite one was about the smoking gun. I keep thinking of those cartoons when the villain can eat bullets and shoot them out.
