I need an expert on this, as this question's been been bugging me.

What kind of lyrics and singing would class you as a "whiner" and "teen" and "Emo style"? I'm just curious, that's all.

Don't understand?

I give you some examples: Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit (Eat You Alive) etc.

Note, I'm not trying to cause offence to those who like Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit, don't get me wrong, they're ok in all, but I'm just curious to what kind of lyrics would be labeled as "whining" and in a nutshell "crap".

The girl from Evanescence sounds sort of whiny at times. (Other times, her voice is quite good though.)

I love some whiney-waily music, if it's well done--it's easy for me to relate to a pained vocalist.

I'm no expert on music, but I am an expert on what annoys the living crap out of me. The Fray. He sounds like he's dying, which is sort of funny since he is singing about How to Save A Life.
As for Emo style, I had to Google it. I had no idea what that was about, but I'm old here. Consult the expert, Google, or his cousin Wiki. They will tell you what you want to know. Do teens who are not Emo equate Emo with Crap? God I feel creaky all of a sudden....I need a nap.

Well, I know this one's old, but Journey had a period of severe whininess. They used to do some pretty decent rock and then went all ballad-y in the worst way. Your average pop ballad is pretty whiney too (re Air Supply, one of the worst bands ever). The 70s had a particular class of whiney, and the late 60s rock, while producing some very good stuff, also brought the world some of the worst musical whining in history. The Who were particularly bad about complaining. "Tommy" alone is enough to make you want to smack them all.
