Since Halloween is coming right up, I thought I'd ask what are some favorite works of horror fiction, as well as favorite horror writers.
Some of mine are as follows:

The Dunnwhich Horror, by H.P. Lovecraft.
The Dreams In The Witch House, by H.P. Lovecraft.
Pigeons From Hell,[/i] by Robert E. Howard.
The Town Manager, by Thomas Ligotti.
The Clown Puppet, by Thomas Ligotti.
Slob, by Rex Miller.
Ararat, by Christopher Golden.

Just to name a few. There are many more.

The Ghost-Seer, Friedrich Schiller (1787)

The Vampyre, John Polidori (1819) -- I prefer it to Frankenstein
The Tell-Tale Heart, EA Poe (1843)
Wuthering Heights, EJ Brontë (1847)
The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde (1890)
Rosemary's Baby, Ira Levin (1967)

Don't read a lot of horror although my favourite book ever - House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski is a horror novel.

Also the classics, Dracula and Frankenstein I love.

Dracula by Bram Stoker is my all time favorite.
