I tried everything to fit in
I changed everything I could
To maintain connection
Google was my best friend
Turns out for most people it’s built in

I was raised to say what I mean
And treat other people how I’d want them to treat me
But apparently people don’t like when I’m nice to me

I’ll read the plot on the way to the movies
Look in your eyes when you’re talking to me
I’ll hug you tight when it’s time to say goodbye

I learnt my lines watching TV and movies
Learned what you liked from your Facebook story
Ya, as long as I follow the script I should be fine

I pretend to be offended
I pretend to not be offensive
I do the right thing every time
Just not the right way

Cuz apparently my friendships over because I forgot a birthday
And my sister thinks I’m a psychopath because she didn’t know that I was joking
And men think I’m willing to cheat
