A thread for sharing love songs that seem to take on a special meaning when you're on the spectrum.
"I can hear so much in your sighs, And I can see so much in your eyes, There are words we both could say, But don't talk, put your head on my shoulder. Don't talk, close your eyes and be still. Don't talk, take my hand, and let me hear your heart beat." What more is there to say?
Can you tell I like Pet Sounds? I'll never know how these guys can evoke such feeling without a single word. Just little sonic cues that bring to mind memories of sneaking glances, holding hands, long walks alone....
"Please forgive me if I act a little strange, For I know not what I do. Feels like lightning running through my veins, Every time I look at you.
Help me out here all my words are falling short, And there's so much I wanna say Wanna tell you just how good it feels When you look at me that way."

I hear the drizzle of the rain Like a memory it falls Soft and warm continuing Tapping on my roof and walls And from the shelter of my mind Through the window of my eyes I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets To England where my heart lies My mind's distracted and diffused My thoughts are many miles away They lie with you when you're asleep And kiss you when you start your day And a song I was writing is left undone I don't know why I spend my time Writing songs I can't believe With words that tear and strain to rhyme And so you see I have come to doubt All that I once held as true I stand alone without beliefs The only truth I know is you And as I watch the drops of rain Weave their weary paths and die I know that I am like the rain There but for the grace of you go I

I love the sensory and the sheltered mind.
PS - Pet Sounds is one of the best albums ever produced.

I wish I could go out with you tonight Without wanting to murder everyone in sight I want to share my feelings but it's hard 'cause I haven't my whole life
I'm tired of being tired But you don't seem to be bothered When I stay in bed all day
I guess I'm kinda sorry 'Cause I won't go to the party But you tell me it's OK
'Cause I f*****g hate everyone but you
I wish I didn't say those things that night I promise that I didn't want for us to fight

We Are In Love from the Looney Tunes reboot could fit here too. Lola is extremely obsessed with Bugs & doesn't grasp that he's a lot less into her than she is in him. I would probably be a great match for her because my partner is my special interest & I find her obsession extremely cute I'm seriously not right in the head

Remember Men at Work from the '80s?
Who can it be knocking at my door? Go 'way, don't come 'round here no more Can't you see that it's late at night? I'm very tired and I'm not feeling right All I wish is to be alone Stay away, don't you invade my home Best off if you hang outside Don't come in, I'll only run and hide Who can it be now? Who can it be now? Who can it be now? Who can it be now?
Who can it be knocking at my door? Make no sound, tip-toe across the floor If he hears, he'll knock all day I'll be trapped and here I'll have to stay I've done no harm, I keep to myself There's nothing wrong with my state of mental health I like it here with my childhood friend Here they come, those feelings again! Who can it be now? Who can it be now? Who can it be now? Who can it be now?
Is it the man come to take me away? Why do they follow me? It's not the future that I can see It's just my fantasy, yeah
Ooh, who can it be now? Who can it be now? Who can it be now? Who can it be now? Who can it be now? (Oh, wee oh) Who can it, Who can it (Ooh ooh) Who can it be now? (Ooh ooh wee) Yeah yeah yeah
