I make these little instrumentals songs. I try to sound different on each ‘project’. Next, I want to learn to play along with drums to tighten up my rhythm.

Can any of you sing? I can not. At all.

I call it the ‘untalented musician project’. I lack talent but I love music.

Enter the world of make-believe. I pretend I’m a musician and I make songs. I suppose any art would do. Lo-Fi recordings, paintings, etc. A creative collective for the untalented creators.

I have an upcoming project of my own that I will start this summer where I am going to be remixing classic 8 & 16-bit Nintendo game music and I will add vocals to some of the tracks, so I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to that!! !

Interesting concept, turning the "do what you do best" adage on its head. I once had a friend who was proud of it if his band's performance managed to empty a bar. His band wasn't that bad. I think he just liked annoying people who didn't like his musical tastes.

Playing to annoy people enough to leave a bar…I can see the appeal.

Sometimes I wonder if there's a name in the known universe that hasn't been taken already Is there anything they can do to stop you using it anyway? Are names copyright?

I think they can take legal action. I don’t know what the result of that would be. I gave up the name. The guy’s music is better than mine, anyway.

I guess it's about commercial trademark law in a competitive market (yeuk!). If they haven't registered their name as a trademark then it would be harder for them to stop you. But it's probably better not to take the risk. It avoids confusion too. Seems a shame though. Sometimes it's not really plaguarism, it's just that two people independently had the same clever idea and one of them happened to think of it first.

I never understood how the second Fleetwood Mac got away with using that name when they were so different from the original Fleetwood Mac though. Some of the fans got very angry about that.
