I do. I'll get one in my head, can't top it from playing, I'll sing it over and over, I'll listen to it over and oer, recently I listen to a song 77 times in two days. :P

I posted for a week or so in the "what are you listening to right this minute" thread the two songs I was playing in a loop on my iPod.

Yeah, I can fixate on a song... especially with the new technology at hand :D

I don't know what purpose it serves me. I seem to enjoy hearing the song(s) every time they play.
Eventually I do change because of a mood change I think.

Going on the third day for one, maybe it's into it's forth, I dunno. If I were to just not hit the link on my site, it would go into repeat mode in my head and not even be close to complete. Hell, I don't even know the words to the thing.

I think I tend to look at it more in terms of stimming, rather then obsession. But I think I'm just playing with semantics, when I separate the two.

I do the same thing. What's very annoying, though, is that I'll hear an oldie that I haven't heard for many years and it will repeat over and over... in my head until I think I'm going crazy. I'll do almost anything to avoid this. If it's music I like, that's ok.
I also have a tendency to want to hear songs that I love over and over... But, since I don't have an ipod, it's a little difficult unless I want to drive everyone else crazy.

Oh yeah. I have a constant music "loop" in my head. Always have. If there's a certain part of a song that my brain likes it will just play it on repeat until it switches to another song.

Ah, I not the only jukebox in the group. :) I also have a continual loop of music playing in my head that sometimes becomes very annoying. Many times I will actually want to listen to these songs on my stereo, which can be a little disconcerting at 4am when living in an apartment.

Sure, there are plenty of songs out there that I can put on repeat and never get tired of it.

Yeah. It's awesome having a set of speakers in your own head for that reason.

I was at the bank yesterday and the lady helping me said... out of the blue... "I like to keep songs in my head too!".

I'm pretty sure I was not humming, I didn't have my headphones on at the moment, I know I was tapping on the counter so maybe that was it.

I'm told I talk to myself at work and I don't really pay attention to it until someone brings it up.
I also hum.
So, I pretty much keep some sort of background noise going in my head.

dont feel bad, its soo bad here that i wake up with an oldie playing in my mind and im SURE its not a sterio or computer. the songs that usually get stuck are band on the run or snoopy vs the red baron once in a while silence is golden or sounds of silence.

then when my dad goes to work ill sing it to myself as i do housework then when i get to computer i play it over and over on youtube. (just hope i dont give the router/modem a stroke from that )

It's always a different one every day, but I'll listen to it about 12-20 times that day. Yesterday it was "Sunny Came Home" by Shawn Colvin. Two days ago it was "Shine" by Collective Soul.

Lately I've been fascinated by songs that have driven people over the edge, like "Shine" did for the Virginia Tech shooter and "Helter Skelter" for Charlie Manson. I can kinda see how an uplifting, spiritual song like "Shine" can send someone into a kiling rampage. "Sunny Came Home" could probably do it for me someday. :(
