Hey all you WP'ers,
How do you relate to that song? If it isn't the ultimate Aspie anthem, then I don't know. Enjoy the read and share your feelings about it.

WORKING CLASS HERO
Artist: Green Day
Original song writer: John Lennon
As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
I didn't see much of my parents during my first years. Not that they didn't want anything to do with me, they both had to go to work, support the family.
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
I learned at that young age to live alone. I knew I was "different" even at that age and there were no recourses. Remember that was during the 1960's.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so f*****g crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
My schooling years were nothing more than a marathon of shaming, hazing, and humiliation. I'm sure many of you fellow WP'ers can relate.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
Damned if you did, damned if you didn't, there was no "fitting in" regardless of what and how I tried. Years of confusion + endless humiliation + emotional scarring = not knowing where to turn in life by the time I reached that age. Again, I'm sure many of you can relate.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and class less and free
But you're still f*****g peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
I was born / raised Catholic. The people around us sure didn't live up to the tenets that were beaten over our heads every Sunday morning at church. All that violence on TV seemed inspirational to many. What the Hell sense did that make?
There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
By now, a part of me has learned to be just as ruthless as "them". I'm not telling you what I've done to some of my enemies so far. They are the ones who need adult diapers now ![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)
