Well I saw one vote and it Oasis- Definately Maybe at number 1. Wrong, only the best bands make it big on both sides of the Atlantic, they haven't. Don't get me wrong, some of their songs are very good, but they never change. Here's my top 10, i've limited myself to one album per band, otherwise i'd be biast and fill it up with Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin.

1. Iron Maiden- Powerslave
2. The Rolling Stones- Let it bleed
3. Ac>Dc- Back in black
4. Led Zeppelin- Houses of the holy
5. Metalica- Master of puppets
6. Nirvana- In utero
7. The Beatles- Abbey road

good point. so many bands have made amazing records then not got anywhere at all just because of circumstance.

Heh, doesn't surprise me - they seem to take it quite seriously!! Fantastic band though, I never cease to be amazed by the quality of that record.
