For those who listen to Alternative Rock/Adult Alternative, what are...

...your ten favorite artists in this category?

...your ten favorite albums in this category?

...your ten favorite songs in this category?

I myself have only two really major fav. artists, Alanis Morisette and the Barenaked Ladies, (though I also like Evanescence- yes, apparently this is how some people classify them, I know nothing so I can't comment on the accruacy) and have six albums each by both artists of them. I also like Jason Mraz and Michelle Branch who are on the borderline of alternative and just plain pop. Anyway, I have a limited scope so the first and secon choices FOR ME are unexciting.

As for the fav. songs, in no order:

One week- BNL
Grade 9- BNL
Brian Wilson- BNL
Jane- BNL
Surrendering- Alanis
So Unsexy- Alanis
Spineless- Alanis
Ironic (Acoustic Version)- Alanis
Would Not Come- Alanis
Fear of Bliss- Alanis

There, I have taken a step towards putting some nonmetal stuff on here.

Edit: Post whatever you want in any umbers you want. I like things in fives, so shoot me, I'm an aspie and allowed to like certain types of numbers like that. :P Just yak about whatever you listen to that you consider worthy of the ambiguous title of alternative, or, conversely, sounds more dignified than hillary duff (no offense) but that non-mainstream-elitists woud still consider trash.

or just complain for a page and a half that the barenaked ladies are fuly-clothed men.

Quite you, with out music I'll just wilt. Music is the only thing I enjoy in my life.
Alternative Rock is an amigous term, but I guess it refers to whats differs from the typical pop/rock sound of the moment. So I'm guessing though groups like The Cure would have been alternative in 1984, that they wouldn't be now because they are not contempary (unless you consider their latest outing which was a poor attempt to assimilate the emo groups that championed them).

yes; in the forums for nonmusic stuff. ;)

I edited the original post. I just anted to condense all possible spinoff posts; I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of top-ten posts and decided to multitask. and as I said in my edit I like multiples of five. ((I'm a dork))
