I quite enjoy trance-y, space-y, and/or electronica & industrial music. I can't stand most classical music, it bores or agitates me.
I am low-tech (both in my internet hookup & human ability) so generally can't access online music. Makes it hard to compare notes in terms of saying "is this (sound clip) that ?", but nontheless...
Recently figured out what an instrumental track (that I was absolutely crazy about) was, the song from "Snatch" during the hare-chase scene. "Disco Science" by Mirwais (whom I'd never heard of before).
Great CD: "Risotto" by Fluke.
Also, "Born Slippy" 3-track CD single by The Underworld.
Generally: Thievery Corporation, Massive Attack, The Crystal Method, The Orb...
Perhaps you could name examples of artists (and maybe which tracks, if it's more specific ones you like) so one could know what you're familiar with. (For us dial-up people who can't do the podcasting/youtube/whatnot thing).
Sure there are many threads on these music styles, and plenty of people who find that this music "feels good to their brains"-whether for calming down or gearing up.
