I really don't care for anime that much. I like the style of the cartoons, and when I was younger I had a strange fascination with it and would try to draw cartoons in that style but when people started to notice I became very embarrassed and uncomfortable for some strange reason. This was back when about the only anime on TV was Astro Boy and cartoons on the French CBC channel. But then Pokemon came and all the hype and controversy kind of ruined it, and I fond most other anime after that to be too violent or boring or poorly animated or made no sense (but I must have been the only adult back then who actually understood Pokemon!). Or the voice acting would make my ears bleed (like Sailor Moon). I would go to Blockbuster and read the adult anime movie video covers with peculiar fascination but wouldn't even dream of renting them because I really don't like any movie full of blood and gore and swearing and sexual themes. Yes I'm a nerd who liked to watch nice little Disney cartoons.
So except for a few seconds of Youtube video here and there, I don't really watch anime, sorry. :(

I don't really like much modern anime for this reason. It is usually well drawn, but poorly animated and the storylines are either cliche or make no sense. Even further, I much prefer western animation to anime. However, few Western cartoons are made to appeal to an older crowd. This bothers me.

Anime (and manga) is something I've begun to explore just recently, so it's too early for me to declare a favorite. But I'm currently watching Death Note on DVD, and it's outstanding. Even though I've read the manga--which definitely removes the suspense for me--it's still great to watch.

I love this one.

I don't tend to like anime in general; so far, I have found that I only like Doraemon, then Miyazaki Hayao's films.
Nothing else is all that appealing.
I prefer Japan itself over anime.
