So, what's your favorite System of a Down song? 8)

Aerials, but I much prefer serj's solo work over SOAD.

That's weird, I think it's just the same as SOAD. Why start off on your own, just to imitate the perfection you just left?

Why is the title of this thread 'Violent Pornography'? You do know that this thread title can be seen by anyone on the WP home page.

I'm guessing it's because it's his favorite song's title, and even I consider it clever to be placed like that. I was like, "Huh, what the hell?" when I saw it. And then like, "OHHHH!! !" when I read his message.

Well, it's my favorite system of a down song, along with cigaro, and sugar. Although I wouldn't be opposed to discussing whether violent pornography is an art form or not in a mature manner. (Sorry, I won't post any pics of it though) This thread is intended to talk about system of a down. (If I'm correct I've inferred that this serj tankian guy was in SOAD and decided to go solo, in which case I'm skeptical that's it's as good as SOAD)

Quite right in your assumptions. I wouldn't say it's not as good as SOAD, as myself and others I know had trouble distinguishing the two at first. It just seems like such a sell out move, and downplays anything he'll accomplish.

"Kill Rock n' Roll" easily. I like any song by System that reminds you they're not like any other metal band. They're the only metal band I consider myself to be a huge fan of (i'm a modest fan of Rammstein).

I also like "B.Y.O.B.". "B.Y.O.B." was one of the rare times a popular rock band manages a fluke Top 40 single with a song that is not only representative of their overall sound, but also is their defining song (the only other one I can think of is "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk)

My least favorite: "Lonely Day".

I wouldn't say it was perfection, but these are more or less what my thoughts were.

I haven't heard Serj's stuff to be fair. System of a down was funny, that's why I liked them. Is Serj still funny while he's going solo?

"Lie Lie Lie" is pretty amusing, but most of his songs on Elect The Dead are fairly serious.

My vote for favorite SOAD song goes to "Chop Suey!".

I'm not really into system of a down but someof their songs are pretty interesting. I like "chop suey" (i think thats what it's called). I also like that one song they did about the war. It goes something like "everybody's going to the party have a real good time".
