Well hate and love may be too strong of words. But music you didn't like but now really enjoy...

I must say, I wasn't always such a big fan of They Might Be Giants. My cousin and friends enjoyed it, and I didn't really get the appeal. I heard a couple of songs off the Then compilation... and some just sounded like they were pounding on a piano just playing whatever. Not really my style...

But I slowly listened to them, and a couple of songs picked up my interest. When I read the lyrics and started to understand the songs, I really liked how clever and crazy was.

Well I went through a phase back in the Napster days where I downloaded nearly everything I could find of theirs. I enjoyed it all... still do.

Though today I own all their CDs legit, and have collected most out of print rare "singles" they put out... or is that EPs. Plus the documentary DVD, and music video DVD... and children's albums. Plus the music from their Madison concert I went to...

Ah... I should go thank my friends for turning me on to They Might Be Giants...

Frankie Vallie and the four seasons...the voice scared me as a tike, but now I like em.

Steely Dan's another band I grew to like.

Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir come to mind. At first I couldn't get past the death grunts.

I also didn't like Mushroomhead because I'd only heard their new stuff. Then I heard XX and fell in love.

I used to hate the song "Her Portrait in Black" by Atreyu (on the Underworld: Evolution) soundtrack. Somehow it became one of my favorite songs. o.O I don't like their other stuff though.

I used to hate the Beach Boys, but later learned to appreciate them.....
Brian Wilson...theres a possible Aspie....yep...or something.....

The Beatles.
in School our music teacher plays us: "Yesterday", "Hej Jude" and nothing else. And i hate it.
Years ago i listen to the Beatles Album "Revolver" and i love it. Also "Rubber Soul", "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", etc... are great albums.

Apocalyptica. When I first heard about them, I thought it was a stupid concept, metal using cellos. A year or so after I first heard of them, I listened to a cover of my favorite song, Seemann. Now they have become my favorite band....

Dir en grey took me a while to get used to. At first the only song I liked was "Obscure."

Also, at first I didn't like The Birthday Massacre.

Cypress Hill, back in 4th or 5th grade, loved the video for Insane but couldn't stand B Real's rapping. I think just the fact that hearing them with an older set of ears as well as the fact that their beats are phenomenal, that and I think hearing Temples of Boom and IV put me in tune with them in a different way.

I hated Tanya Donelly when the song Feed The Tree was on the pop charts. Later on, I gravitated towards all of her her music, after hearing and liking the song Now They'll Sleep. Call it a huge crush. Her vocals put her on my list of top ten female singers of all time. Maybe even top five.

On a totally different disgust-to-apreciation timeline/level, I didna like Steely Dan back in the 80s, but I can dig it now.

I'm not sure if there's anything else. I can't think of any at the moment.

Mostly Goth bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees, Hatesex, Bauhaus, and Christian Death. I couldn't even see how it was music, but then I'd listen to them a couple of months later and absolutely love them. Also for a while the only Rage Against the Machine song that I liked was "Killing in the Name" but eventually I decided I wanted to hear more of the style.

Used to hate his music (as a teen-ager), but now have most of his discography.
