Hello. I have Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and Elements 2.0 but I don't know to use them very well.

I was hoping someone on the board might be good at it so that they could give me some tutor help with very basic stuff like working with layers and whatnot.

hmm...I have Photoshop 7, but haven't even fired it up once I installed it..;)

There's beacoup tutorials out there, if you Google 'em. I know, I did. I was lucky, our company had a training website, and I took the training. I've got to get around to using it before it all leaks out of my ears again...;)

There's also several dozen sites out there with forums on Photoshop. I know the place I hang out besides here (Renderosity) has a Photoshop forum. never hurts to ask, and it's free...

Oh, Strapples here (have I got the handle name right?) does Photoshop, so you might ask him...

When I have something specific I want to do, I google it.

I have found some great tutorials online and now with YouTube, I have found some really good videos to follow.
Some of the vid's on youtube are not done very well and are hard to follow for me.

A couple of things about layers (mind you, I'm using the CS3 varieties of PS, Illustrator, etc., so we may not have the same things in our respective programs).

- First off, always make a copy of the picture/object you are going to work on. In CS3, in my layers, I can just drag the original down to a 'copy' icon and I will automatically have a copy appear in layers. Then, I unclick the eyeball and lock my original image so I never corrupt it. I just work on the copy.

- Sometimes I find it easier to work on a certain element as a different project then bring them all together. I'm not sure that's the most efficient method, but I do what works best for me.

I'm actually not sure what else to write for you here.

What are some of the things you want to do with these programs?
