Does anybody else here like the super-hero comic books of the DC , Marvel , etcetera type ?
I do .
I'm older , however .
Perhaps ( ha ha ) , that is old-fashioned in the magna , etc. , era , like silent movies or radio dramas . Well , hey .
At present I like Justice Society Of America a lot , I'm still buying Amazing Spider-Man even after that annoying " One More Day " conclusion...Really , I could go on . And have spent ridiculous amount of money on them   .

I love comics, but rarely stray into the superhero stuff, I'm obssessed with the magic (mainly vertigo) side of the DC universe, Sandman, Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, Books Of Magic etc.. leads to the superhero stuff via Dr. Fate though..

That said I've gotten into the Ultimate Xmen stuff alot recently, and started reading Image's 'Invincible'.

Considering the way Marvel is going with Quesada I rarely keep track of super hero comics but I did enjoy X-23: innocence lost, NYX, and X-23 Target X. and currently I’m trying but failing to to keep track of the current X-men arc But I do remember when Wolverine introduces Laura (he given name by her mother for those unaware of the fact. "This is my sister, and yes if she felt like it she could kill you." perfect cynical introduction considering his history and the fact she kind of a clone of him with a “genetic variation“ as it was first described.

I used to love Thunderbolts. Never got into the new ones though--I stopped reading after they revamped it into a villain fight club comic, then never got back into it when they actually switched back to the REAL Thunderbolts characters....

I got out of Superheroes. Except I have all four Ultimates collections graphic novels.

I took it as a sign when they killed Cap in the regular series.

Bringing Norman Osborn back to life pissed me off but I cannot excuse Bucky.

I collect most of the crime, sci fi and action EC comics reprints.

The only superheroes i plan on continuing to buy comics of are Marshal Law and Flaming Carrot.

I would like to know what happened in World War Hulk though.

Comic series I would most like to personally make into a movie is the Foolkiller miniseries. It was really amazing stuff . Hardcore like the Watchmen. More realistic . Seriously.

I still tend to by the magazine - ahemph , " pamphlet " - versions . I remember when one complete story in an issue , or at least a fairly large percentage of one , being that I'm old and all , was the norm ! !! !! !! !!
Rather ~~~~~~~~~~ than ~~~~~~~~~~ " deconstructed " ~~~~~~~~~~ story-telling " ~~~~~~~~~~ Also known as " writing for the trade  :P ! !! !! !! !! !!

...You mean the " Ultimates universe Avengers " , the Ultimates ?
I thought they were just up to the third one , right now , which I've been getting but haven't read yet .
I've been getting JMS's The Twelve , too...

Issue #2 has that real touching scene , if you've read it you'll know what I mean here...

I agree with you all the way! I have a box at home filled with Spider-Man and super Man, but mostly Archies Sonic the Hedgehog. It is past #180 and has yet to get dark or gruesome, so it’s still my favorite.

As far as non-manga superhero comics go, I agree, with the various later Batman comics coming second.

Superhero comics are the only ones I read these days. I'm older too (36) so I can relate. If you like Justice Society (which I read too), you will probably like Geoff Johns's other titles "Booster Gold" and "Green Lantern." The Sinestro War story arc of Green Lantern was one of the best superhero stories ever written!
