It really depends on what you want to do. You can, of course, publish your book or poems on a site (there is a Writing & Poetry feature on this site), or make a website with your writing and poetry.
If you want to earn money from it, you can add a "allopass" system, which means people have to call a number, get a code that they will type in a special zone on your site to access the poems, or novel, novella...Then, you will earn a part of the price people pay when they call the number in question. But maybe you meant you want to publish as a real book.
To do so :
1. You can look for an editor online, through a search engine, but unless they are known, you may not know whether they are serious or not.
2. There is the site of the publisher Jessica Kingsley Publishers. You can ask them. They receive propositions from their site and by snail mail.
3. You can go to a site like "www.cafepress.com" to have your book published. Then people will buy it directly from your site and each book will be printed as they are sold unless you ask to receive a certain amount of books.

There are other ways but that is all I can think of now.

Why not try the Writing and Poetry module here? It won't actually "publish" your work, but it WILL post it online (after editing, that is).

They have a huge list of poetry, mostly by Snottyboy, although I wrote a poem that I posted on there.

You might not see any of my other work on there, because I have written very little poems, no essays (that I'd like to post online), although I'm thinking about putting a story I wrote on there (only I'd have to change the name of it since it has my last name in the title). I might post a story version of a comic I wrote, though, which I will talk about in another topic.

Anyway, try the Writing and Poetry module! it may take 24 hours (maybe more, maybe less) to get your work posted on there, but it's worth it. Trust me.
