WARNING: Spoilers ahead, also a bit of rant.

I used to be a big fan of Stephen King. USED TO, until I read The Regulators. Not only does he portray autism in it's worst light, by making an extremely low-fuctioning autistic child a main character, he has it sound like the child agrees with what the (I dunno what, exactly, some type of evil spirit inside the child) is doing to the road, killing off all the people and turning it into some twisted fantasy the child had made from a combination on TV shows. Not only that, but he has the kid somehow control another lady, forcing her to shoot him and his step-mother to stop the spirit. I am not planning on reading anything by Stephen King again, after this book, it is clear he has no idea what autism truely means yet decided to write about it anyway.

First maligning clowns not this.....

Stephen,Stephen,when will this madness end?

(I think I am very funny. )

I was a fan of Stephen King's Gun Slinger series, but he wrote a lot of crap,(most of which were made into bad movies),too. Can't win them all. I always thought he might BE an aspie but don't have enough personal bio to really know. There are a lot of better writers out there. Stay away from the top sellers rack and go to your local lybrary and start hunting..amazing stuff out there that never gets read.

There's no such thing as bad press, right? It's whiners like you who give Aspies a bad name.

Classic cars from the 1950s will surely be outraged by SK's Christine. Talk about negative portrayals ... :x

Actually,I think it's insensitive rude(and what some people call honest?)people like you who call people names and try and shame them for voicing an opinion who gives humans a bad name. One they deserve.

I'm not a dude and I'm plenty relaxed and your reply(relax,i was kidding) is exactly...word for word...what bullies say when they want to make it look like they are not at fault for being rude but that the other person is at fault for being offended at being bullied. If your aspie, then you have probably heard it before(from them)is that where you learned the "come-back"?

On the other hand it inspired me to draw a comic...

A roman soldier is getting ready to nail Jesus up on the cross and then stops and says...

"Dude,You've been PUNKED"

All the apostles are laughing their butts off and pointing at Jesus and Jesus gets has a sheepish look on his face because he "fell for it"

Okay, dude, point taken.

Punk'd? If a Roman soldier failed to perform that duty (crucifying a prisoner), or even fell asleep during a watch, he himself would have been executed. Crucifixion was / is no laughing matter. Did you know the COD for those nailed to crosses during the Roman Empire was actually suffocation?

Punk me. :o

If you write him a very polite letter, maybe Stephen King would tell you if he's Aspie or not. Whenever I got to my local "lybrary," the top sellers rack usually indicates which titles have been enjoyed by the most readers. Are there better writers than SK? The man himself insist there are.

And if books never get read, there's usually a good reason for that, too.
