I'm a big fan of DM, with my all time favorite being "Enjoy the Silence: The Quad Final Mix" (the 15 minute long mix with the orchestral section).

Anyone else into these guys? Or into synthpop/electronica/trance/Euro/house in general? (I'm also a big fan of ATB, Ferry Corsten, Benassi Bros, Eric Prydz, etc).

Also, if anyone knows of some good brick and mortar stores to get some of the releases from these guys, let me know. I normally buy everything on iTunes but iTunes doesn't have Bob Sinclair or Tina Cousins. The only place they ever play this sort of music around here is Abercrombie & Fitch.

YAY! Another DM fan, favorite band for me. My favorite song would have to be Dead of Night, or Dirt. It changes up every few weeks. Songs of Faith and Devotion is my favorite album. That, or Exciter.

They were alright. Black Celebration is the album I'd feel most inclined to play these days

Another fan here. Also love Vince Clarke projects, Pet Shop Boys, Joy Division/New Order, KLF, Dubstar, just to name a few. Synthpop is my favorite genre.

I love Depeche Mode. Had (3rd row? i think) tickets to see them twice on their Exciter tour. Was almost blinded by Martin's reflective pajamas. Dave Gahan is hot.

They used to be my favorite band ever, I have most of their CDs if not all, lots of their B sides and singles.

I think Smashing Pumpkins has overtaken them as #1 in my book, tho.

The other bands on equal par with DM in my world are Throbbing Gristle and Danse Society.

ME! I've been a fan of theirs since...ooh, sometime in the early/mid 80s. I love a lot of 80s synthpop music.

I agree. I wouldn't call Exciter s**t, but it's not really a DM album either. The only DM sounding track on the whole thing is "Dead of Night." Their last one "Playing the Angel" was a real return to form though. It would be cool if everyone swallowed their pride and they hired Alan Wilder to produce the next album.

BTW, I've heard many strong rumors that DM return to the studio this month to begin work on a new album.

Early stuff's a bit poor though.

Depeche Mode are one of the few bands who lost their central song-writer, but kept on going and became even more successful. The other examples I can think of are Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac. Any others?

Let me see you stripped down to the bone...let me see you speaking just for me....

OK, I'm not a big fan, but I like a few songs by them and respect them for the influence they've had on artists I DO like more (like NIN).
