I just got an accordion for my birthday. I just got it an hour and a half ago, so of course I'm not very good yet, and I had never played one before. It feels like my left arm is going to die.

I've an acoustic guitar with 5 strings on it, a semi acoustic bass with 4 strings on it, and an electric guitar with 3 strings on. I'm thinking of getting rid of a couple. Of strings.

^^^ I just made myself a 3 string guitbass from a fender squire!

Man, is that thing a hoot to play!! !

I also have a satin black Les Paul--I'm really not worthy of it.

So many people with guitars, you couldn't be any more mainstream. xP (maybe piano is more mainstream)

There's a huge shortage of bassists because everyone wants to be a showboat guitarist, how am I mainstream?

Guitars: I have a Jackson DK2M, a Fender Stratocaster, a Yamaha electric-acoustic. Bass: Warwick 5 string
Amps: Soldano SLO-100, a 40 watt Marshall, and a 50 watt bass amp

I don't really play anymore, but who knows? I may take it up again. Anyways...here's my gear...

Fender Tex-Mex Stratocaster, first production run, sunburst w/ rosewood fretboard, heavily customized (shielding, reversed pick-up selector switch, neck/bridge tone controls, blocked bridge, bone nut, compound radius fretboard, bass frets, black mother-of-pearl pick guard, gold-plated pick guard screws)
Fender California Stratocaster, candy apple red w/ maple fretboard
I prefer Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky strings (.011-.054), but they tended to aggravate tendon/ligament issues I've had in my forearms
I also prefer 1.14mm Dunlop Gator Grip picks, and I use one of the fat corners

Amps
Fender Bullet Reverb, first practice amp, came from the factory with the volume pot installed upside-down
Fender Blues Junior w/ laquered tweed finish and BillM mods, loaded with GT tubes

Pedal
Zoom multi-effects pedal, never actually used it...I prefer plugging straight into the amp

I have a 1977-78 Apollo bass guitar.

so many buttons, and so heavy, it must be like wearing a hammond organ.

i have an early 70s-vintage gulbransen "theatrum" home organ. it makes pretty warbling sounds. my cat has more musical talent than i do, so all i can do with the organ is turn it on and make noises with it and thlup stop tabs and fiddle with tone sliders to make some different noises.
also i have a slide whistle that i have a little more skill in using.
a set of castanets, and a cabasa. i used to have an F-bass recorder but i needed cash so i ebayed it. i would love to get a C great bass recorder or an F-sub-bass recorder, i like the hooting sounds they make. a C-bass flute would also be interesting. a vibra-slap would hold my attention for hours, as i kept slapping it and it would be going "CHACKACHACKACHACKA etc."

Mine is about 18 pounds, so a bit heavy, but it's no big deal as long as you're sitting down. Yeah, there are a lot of bass buttons, I have yet to learn how to play them. But the right side is just like playing a sideways piano.

my favorite comedian, pete barbutti, could play a mean "lady of spain" on his accordion that he used otherwise as a prop. and weird al [yankovic] actually can give myron floren a run for his money.

I seem to have this weird idea that if I buy more musical instruments, some how I'll eventually figure out how to play them.

I have:

Yamaha p-80 electric piano. Currently I'm using this as a MIDI controller for various synth apps in my iPad, specifically the Korg iMS-20 and NLog Pro.

A old, distressed Saxophone

A Classical guitar

A recorder

A few kazoos (I can't play those either)

I kinda want to get a banjo because they look neat, but considering I can't play any of the instruments I have, I probably ought to save my money.
