supposedly the winner is Celine Dion, who did an AC/DC cover?...;) hoo boy

The Smiths did do a cover of The Jams' 'That's Entertainment', or maybe just Morrisey, can't remember.

Someone did a cover of (I think) Twopence none the Richers' There she goes', but it was a woman, which did change the dynamic on it some...;)

pakled - click on the link on my post...if you dare. She did, and it is truly, phenomenally awful.

Somebody actually covered that horrible "left the cake out in the rain" song...resulting in the TWO worst recordings ever made...

Was that Donna Summer? A disco version? I think I heard that in a nightmare.

There's two I can think of -

Janis Joplin's 'Piece of my Heart' covered by Faith Hill
(I wanted to vomit when I heard how 'cutesy' she turned it)

And Johnny Cash covering the Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt"
(he did okay with it, but there was just something weird about a legend like Cash covering a modern day band like NIN)

I think that's the CD where Cash does Nick Cave's Mercy Seat too - I got it out of the library (Solitary Man, I think it was called) but he can hardly sing, he just talks the songs. Voices just don't last that long. It was interesting to hear it once, but uh...

I didn't say it was bad, just weird. When I heard it the first time, I was like, "Huh?"
