Yay! Ministry FTW! :D

"Jesus Built My Hotrod" is my favourite of theirs, then would come "You Know What You Are".

The Land of Rape in Honey is almost the beginning and the end of my love of Ministry. Twitch may get an honourable mention.

L of R & H is just the beginning! I've followed them since then and liked all the incarnations/style creep. I know they lost some fans with "Filthpig" and that Dylan cover, which is too bad because Dark Side of the Spoon, Animosity, Houses of Mole, and Rio Grande Blood all rocked. (I liked Filthpig except for the Dylan cover.) Last Sucker didn't grab me as much as the previous two but I've only heard it twice so maybe I need to let it percolate.
I couldn't select a single favorite Ministry album, but I could reluctantly call the top three Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste, Houses of Mole and Rio Grande Blood.

I was disappointed by what I considered the more straight-forward "industrial rock" of The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste which put me off their later work, since a lot of at least the more acclaimed of the later albums seems to be in a similar vein. I guess I prefer the more electronic or avant-garde side of things when it comes to this kind of music.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ministry live at Lollapalooza in 1992 (Massachusetts). They totally stole the show - the energy level so high the crowd went completely insane, ripping the sod off the fields and flinging it around - and eventually tearing down the wooden fences in the back of the venue and starting huge bonfires. It was total chaos. Anyway Ministry were really good - that was one of the most memorable shows of my life.
