I've recently become interested in the arts. Currently I'm in a photography class and just want to explore more on the subject.

Last week we watched a documentary Bill Cunningham New York in class and I was just fascinated/delighted by him and his life.

Well, Annie Leibovitz is certainly worth a look, her stuff is pretty amazing if you're thinking in terms of portraits.

You might also websearch "yyelowbird" who has photos on many different sites - it's the sort of thing you'll really like if you like that sort of thing.

There are lots of photography sites on the web, and as with any form of art, you kinda have to poke around until you find something you like, and then you'll find yourself led to others who are doing the same things.

There is such a wide variety, but here are a few that I really like:

Eclectic Portraits
Arnold Newman Archive

All around street photography
Magmum Photos - Henri Cartier-Bresson

Alvarez Bravo

Architectural Photography
Julius Shulman Google Image Search

In general, you should be able to just do an image search on Google for a photographer's name in order to get an overview of their work.

I enjoy street photography, and documentary photography. Architecture has always been a bit of an interest of mine.

I google photographers and images a lot. But I also like to see what other people are interested in within the photography field.

I just looked at some HDR photography.... I'm not sure how I feel about it. Some of the images look more like illustrations to me.

Avedon, Bourdin, Steichen... amazing old school.

I'm loving this guy's work lately: http://christopherwilsonphotography.com/

Also the illustrators H.R. Giger http://www.hrgiger.com/ and Syd Mead http://sydmead.com/ make mind-blowingly cool images.
