I was castised by someone I know after they found out I listen to my ipod in public places like the mall, because it makes me unavilable to people. To Who? I take it out when ever I go to registers to by things, or if Im waiting at a resteraunt so I canmy server. If I go alone, and not in a situation where I talk to others then why shouldnt I? It sugestions I belong to other people, and how dare I be unavailble to a starnger.

Not rude as far as I'm concerned. It's rude if you're in the company of another person or you're in a situation where socialising is expected, but otherwise it's fine to listen in public places.

It's rude if it's up too loud so everyone can hear the noise coming from it.

Hardly rude Eggman, phone on cellphones can be very rude, and you do take your ear phones off
to talk with people. Its ok to shut out the noise of the world with something that sounds better.

I listen to music on purpose to shut the world out especialy walking through town.

I hate those marketers with there fake smiles trying to get your mank details for charity. And then you got the "Oi mate, you got a fag (smoke)" knobs.
So i use it as an excuse to to ignore them.

Only time i think it would be rude is if your with others, (others than arnt listening to music)
